AU seeks to put more women in power

African Union Commission Chairperson, Nkosazana Dlamini Zuma on Wednesday signed an agreement with the United Nations Development Program on Women empowerment and active Political participation.

The programme will contribute to the reduction of gender inequalities, guarantee equal access to opportunities, rights and to empower African women to be equal partners in the continent’s development agenda. 

Dlamini Zuma said putting women in decision making is ensure that communities and the country develop in more people centred manner.

She added that for more women put in power is better decision not only for the women but the countries in general.
