The Western Cape Police Commissioner Arno Lamoer has congratulated the police and the Central Karoo Dog Unit for their efforts in fighting crime.

This comes after two men were arrested in Beaufort West for possession of mandrax.

The Law Enforcement Agencies have been conducting patrols in the Southern Cape in an effort to fight the influx of drugs into the province.

Southern Cape Police Spokesperson Malcom Pojie said they will be conducting road blocks to curb the flow of drugs into the province.

“Members of the K-9 unit were on duty parade when they received a information that one of two vehicles might be in possession of drugs; when the search ensued they found the drugs” Pojie added.

Pojie also said that the two suspects will appear in the Beaufort Magistrates Court soon.
