A wage agreement between Golden Arrow and the South African Road Passenger Bargaining Council has failed.

Golden Arrow employees will be embarking on a wage strike from the 19th of April.

The Employer Parties offered a 6.5 percent wage increase to all employee categories.

The labour is demanding an 18 percent wage increase for all categories of staff, a minimum of R8 000 per month, a housing allowance of R1 800 per month, 90 days sick leave and additional contributions to medical aid and retirement funding.

Western Cape Cooperate Development Manager of Golden Arrow John Dammert said the company advised that all scheduled services will be affected by the strike.

Dammert added that in order to protect the company staff and assets, a lock out of all bargaining council staff will be imposed.
