The Democratic Alliance in Limpopo is
intending to table the Limpopo Community Safety Bill.
The aim of the bill is to make
police more accountable to the safety needs of communities through a
partnership between community groups and provincial government.
The DA will start formal public consultations
on the bill.
DA media officer Langa Bodlani said the
provincial government is liaising with the provincial commissioner and the
African national Congress to collect data and release it as it is needed.
“We hope that is will be accepted by
members of the ruling party who are serious about curbing criminality in the
province, we will be meeting tomorrow in the legislature” Bodlani added.
