Police investigation continues after a crèche was burnt in Mfuleni

Western Cape Police are investigating an incident where by a crèche was set alight in Mfuleni allegedly by residents on Tuesday.

The owner of the crèche said she received permission from the police to put up the crèche on the land but residents were up in arms over the structure being built on that specific plot. 

No injuries were reported. 

Police Spokesperson FC van Wyk said no arrests has been made as yet, however a female was arrested on Monday for intimidation and threats of burning down the crèche.

Van Wyk added that the investigation continues.
