The Departemnt of Basic Education has issued a strong warning against teachers that will take part in the planned march by the South African Democratic Teachers Union on Wednesday.

Teachers in Cape Town and Pretoria are expected to march to Parliament and the Union Buildings.

Sadtu said the march is aimed at intensifying their call for the Basic Education Minister Angie Motshekga and the Director General Bobby  Soobrayan to resign.

The department Spokesperson Panyaza Lesufi said the march is illegal and therefore the teachers should be aware that there could be consequences.
