Two road fatalities reported in the WC over the weekend

Western Cape Traffic officials held 12 road blocks in province on Friday.

1547 vehicles and tested 601 drivers for alcohol and 16 drivers were arrested for driving under the influence of alcohol.

The highest reading was found in Brackenfell 2,38g.

Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said the total amount of fines that was issued is R35 000.

Africa said the fatalities for this weekend stand at two, on incident an 18 year-old male was knocked down on the R43 near Hermanus and another person was killed in head-on collision in Grabouw.

Africa added that the officers will continue with their roadblocks throughout the weekend.
