The Western Cape will be administering about one million children in the province for measles and polio.

The campaign will be launched by the Minister of Health Aaron Motsoaledi at the end of this month.

It was reported that between 2009 and 2010 about 1 200 children contracted measles in the province.

Provincial Spokesperson for the Department of Health Sithembiso Magubane said the provincial government is urging all parents to sign consent forms so that their children can be immunized.

Magubane further said for children that are not attending crèches, they should be taken to any school, because Health officials will be going around to different schools during the month of May.
