WC Traffic Officials clamp down on drunk driving

The Western Cape Traffic officials held 24 roadblocks over the weekend.

2670 vehicles were stopped on those roadblocks and 1270 drivers were tested for alcohol.

42 Drunk drivers were arrested and another was arrested in Brackenfel for outstanding permit issues.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said the highest reading was recording in Brackenfell and that 2,38mg. Africa added that there were four road fatalities over the weekend.

Africa further said the total amount of fines issued is R1 50 200.
