The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape said it believes that deploying the South Africa National Defence Force is a last resort to put a stop to the gang violence.

The ACDP is calling on President Jacob Zuma to deploy the SANDF in the Cape Flats to deter any further gang violence.

ACDP’s Provincial leader Ferlon Christians said people do not feel safe in those places anymore, and the police are incapable of controlling the violence in the Western Cape.

“We are asking the President to intervene and bring the army to the Cape Flats; people’s lives are in danger” Christians added.
