The African Christian Democratic Party said that budget cuts for the South African National Defence Force undermine the capability of the units to carry out their mandate.

ACDP MP Steve Swart said if SA will send more troops to Africa, having stood bravely to attack in the Central African Republic, SA should have sent helicopters and other equipment to ensure there was enough supply for them.

Swart further said if the SANDF is not given sufficient budget they would be able to do the peacekeeping missions that they have been called to do.

He further called on government to ensure that SANDF has a sufficient budget.
