DA-National key points should be determined by Parliament

The Democratic Alliance said it is highly unlikely that Waterkloof Air Force Base would not be considered a National Key Point.

Minister of Justice and Constitutional Development Jeff Radebe revealed that the Waterkloof Air Force Base is not a national key point.

DA MP of Police Dianne Kohler Barnard said government should not be allowed to determine what a national key point is and what is not.

This should be determined by Parliament, and subject to effective oversight.

Kohler Barnard added that it is absurd that President Jacob Zuma’s homestead in Nkandla has been designated as a national key point but the Waterkloof Air Force Military Base is not.
