Western Cape MEC of Community Safety
Dan Plato said the increase violence in Delft is out
of control.
This follows the death of two men
who were shot and killed in Delft on
Tuesday.
It is believed that gang violence in
the area is beginning to increase again.
MEC Plato said in the last couple of
weeks, many people have been shot in the area.
“I am in touch with the
neighbourhood watch and the Community Policing Forum and also the South African
forum” Plato added.
Plato said he is conducting
community leaders in the broader Delft region
to see what can be done about the problem.
“I hope that SAPS will make arrests
very soon and that they do proper investigations to ensure proper convictions
in the court of law” Plato reiterated.
