General Practitioners to meet WC government and Metropolitan Health Risk Management on HIV treatment

Attention is on General Practitioners in the private sector, as they meet with Metropolitan Health Risk Management and the Western Cape Government Health along with the South African HIV Clinicians’ Society. 

The assemblage is to discuss people living with HIV receiving the highest quality of treatment. 

The private sector has an central role to perform in the health sector of this country. 

Ministerial Spokesperson Helene Rossouw said they discussed with Metropolitan Health Risk Management the possibilities there for partnerships so that more patients in both the public and private sector should be tested for HIV.

“At present, all public patients are screened for HIV” Rossouw added.
