MEC encourages Nyanga youth to study further

Plato Today the Western Cape MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato attended a post-matric education information session for the unemployed youth in Nyanga.

The area has in recent months been labeled as one of the dangerous areas in Cape Town.

Plato said it is only through a whole society approach that the war against crime will be won. 

Plato said there are a number of youth gangs that is running amock in Nyanga.

“It is very important for me and the Department of Community Safety to rach out to these gangster and drug stricken youth; education is a key to empowerment as a means to change behaviour, that is why we are reaching out to the youth out there to do just that” Plato said further.
