NUM launches Youth Forum

The National Union of Mineworkers today, will launch its Youth Forum at the the Birchwood Conference in Boksburg.

NUM’s Frans Baleni said the establishment of such a forum is in itself important a milestone for the union, and would take forward Congress of South African Trade Union’s commitment to developing young workers’ minds.

NUM’s Lesiba Seshoka said the NUM bids a way to breed young workers to leadership positions but also to cater for interests of young workers’ especially for their development.

“Our intention to have this union is informed that 54 percenct of NUM members are aged between 19 and 39” Seshoka added.
