The Democratic
Alliance said the Special Investigating Unit still remains without a permanent
head.
Minister of Justice
Jeff Radebe gave his budget vote speech on Wednesday in Parliament.
The DA says there
is no rational explanation for the SIU not having a head.
DA MP of Justice
Debbie Schafer said the only comment the Minister made was that the President
was considering appointing their head.
“What can he be
considering after 17 months? There is no rational explanation for the on-going failure
to appoint a permanent suitable head of the SIU.
“The ANC speaks
about fighting corruption but their actions reveal the real truth” Schafer
added.
