The Swaziland Solidarity Network embarks on fact finding mission

The Swaziland Solidarity Network has embarked on a fact finding mission to determine how a deployee of the African National Congress in the diplomatic corps could irresponsibly utter words that contradict and are in contrary to the call for democracy in Swaziland by the ANC.

SSN Spokesperson Lucky Lukhele said the SA High Commissioner is an embarrassment to the ANC and South Africans.

Lukhele added their broader network finds it unacceptable that the South African High Commissioner joins the barrage of counter-revolutionary and misguided sovereignty against calls for democracy in Swaziland and has lambasted and ridiculed the very ANC that deployed him, an organization he is a member of, for its calls on democratization in Swaziland.

“We cannot forget the solidarity of foreign states and political parties during our sad and turbulent history and we cannot keep quiet while living next door to one of the most barbaric political regimes known to mankind lest we be complicit to the atrocities being committed on a daily basis against pro-democracy and human rights activists in Swaziland,” said Lukhele.

Furthermore Luhkele added that they are vividly aware of the fact that since we share borders with Swaziland, the lack of democratic reform in that country impacts negatively on South Africa.
