Two arrested for possession and dealing in drugs

On Monday afternoon members of the Woodstock police arrested two men age 27 and 24 years old, for possession and dealing in drugs at a flat situated in Hares Avenue Woodstock.

Corporate communications sergeant Hilton Malila said the arrest follows, after members attached to the crime prevention unit, followed up on information received from the public, regarding illegal activities at the premises.

Malila said police members swooped on the Hares Avenue flat, and upon searching of the premises we confiscate 65 units of uncut heroin, with an estimated street value of +-R20 000 00.

Malila added that also seized a substantial amount of cash that was found on one of the suspects.

“The two suspects currently in police custody will appear in the Cape Towns’ magistrates today on charges of dealing and possession of drugs,” said Malila

He furthermore added that the Woodstock police want to thank and encourage the community to constantly blow the whistle on any illegal activities that are taking place within their respective communities.
