Western Cape MEC of Transport and Public Works Robin Carlisle said the blue light regulation is now activate, which means that no one can use blue lights or emergency lights, unless they are attending to an actual emergency.

The draft regulations’ restricting the use of blue lights and sirens in the province was released on Friday in the government gazette for public comment.

Carlisle added that in the Western Cape they have removed blue light from the Ministerial vehicles.

“There is no circumstance we found where we required blue lights and that applies to everyone.” Carlislie
