Street vendors to be given safety information

The Western Cape MEC of Community Safety
Dan Plato is today expected to hand over safety information to street vendors
around Strand Street
The information will provide the vendors
with safety contact details so that they can report any safety concerns to the
Department of Community Safety.
Ministerial Spokesperson Greg Wagner said
last week one of the street vendors was attacked and robbed but did not report
matter to the police.
He added that the Minister strongly
condemned this attack and called on police to ensure that perpetrators are
arrested as soon as possible.
