WC traffic authorities out in full force

The Western Cape traffic officials are out in full force over the long weekend.

The traffic authorities held 24 roadblocks in the province since Friday.

Traffic Chief Kenny Africa said they stopped 2 086 vehicles and several drivers were arrested for various crimes.

Africa further said they also arrested a drunk pedestrian in the Mossel Bay area on Saturday.

He added that there were two fatalities reported over the weekend.

The officials will continue with their roadblock until Monday.

Africa has urged all motorists to be cautious on the road at all times, more especial those who will be travelling long distances, to and from their different holiday destinations.
