Accident kills one and leaves 5 injured

Netcare 911 paramedics late last night responded to an accident on the N1 south bound just before John Vorster Drive in Pretoria, whereby one person died and five were left injured.

 

The exact details of the cause of the accident and preceding events are unclear and will remain the subject of a police investigation. 

 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Santi Steinmann said that upon their arrival on scene they found that a motor vehicle had rear ended another motor vehicle resulting in the death of one man.

 

“Two other people sustained critical injuries and three sustaining serious injuries; the Nectcare 1 helicopter was activated to airlift one of the critically injured people to a nearby hospital,” added Steinmann.

 

She also added that the remaining were treated on scene and rushed to a nearby Netcare facility.
