ANCWC: MEC Plato campaigning to undermine SAPS

The Western Cape African National Congress Chairperson Marius Fransman on Monday said Provincial MEC of Community Safety Dan Plato is deliberately trying to tarnish the image of the South African Police.
This follows the call last week yet again by the MEC to bring in the army to the Cape Flats
Fransman said MEC Plato has a relationship with gangs in the province which needs to be questioned.
Spokesperson Phillip Dexter said that according information the ANC has that MEC Plato has been involved in a number of activities that amount to a campaign to discredit the SAPS and undermine them in the Western Cape
“The Deputy Minister has called for an investigation into Mr. Plato” Dexter added.
