Tributes have been pouring in for Former Chief Justice Pius Langa who died on Wednesday morning at the age of 74-years.

The Law Society of South Africa on Wednesday said Langa was a humble and vigilant proponent of the rights of the marginalised, oppressed and underprivileged in the country.

Co-Chairperson of the Law Society Kathleen Matolo-Dlepu said he upheld the constitutional values, he was a freedom fighter and loved his country.

Matolo-Dlepu added that Langa accelerated the transformation in the justice system because he ensured that a lot of women were trained and got appointment.
