ACDP disappointed with MEC Grant’s appeal on school closures

The African Christian Democratic Party in the Western Cape said it is shocked at MEC Donald Grants decision to appeal the court judgment on school closures.

Earlier in August, the Western Cape High Court found that the reasons given for closing the schools in the province were largely not enough and irrational.

ACDP Provincial leader Ferlon Christians has called on parents’ principals and teachers to act within their constitutional rights and demand that MEC Grant places their children’s needs first.

Christians said that the MEC Grant should consider that the money that he will spend in the court case could be used to uplift some of the schools.

“We are very disappointed that he is appealing the school closure,” Christians added.
