Western Cape MEC of Finance, Economic Development and Tourism Alan Winde has announced that a second tavern has lost its license under the new Western Cape Liquor Act.

Winde said Tootsies Inn in Elsies River initially revoked this outlet’s license in April this year following allegations of the sale of alcohol to visibly drunk patrons and for selling off-consumption with an on-consumption license.

Winde said that this is the message they are trying to get out to traders.

“Make sure you trade responsibly, within the rules and we will be out there looking and so far we have 3 146 premises inspected so far sine the liquor by law came into being,” added Winde.

He emphasised that they will clamp down on those individuals who are trading irresponsibly.
