Western Cape African National Congress Leader Marius Fransman has called for Western Cape Premier Helen Zille to resign.

Fransman said Zille has proven once again that she is out of touch with the realities in communities and schools.

Fransman added that Zille and her DA-led government has lost the public’s trust.

“MEC Plato is now supporting her and he has been siding with the gang groups and now she is trying to find ways to help schools using 6 million rands, to help find solutions which my not even work,” added Fransman.

Meanwhile Premier Zille’s Spokesperson Zak Mbhele said that it is rather unfortunate that Marius Fransman chooses to use the situation of the crises in Manenberg as a scapegoat to score cheap political points

“Than to rather use it as an opportunity to use his position as member of the cabinet to influence other members of the ruling party to help bring about an end to the violence in Mannenberg,” Mbhele said.
