The United Democratic Movement on Monday said it welcomes the publication of the Public Protector’s investigation into maladministration and corruption in the procurement of the Riveside Office Park to accommodate the head offices of the independent Electoral Commission.

UDM Leader Bantu Holomisa has called for the commission to conduct a forensic audit into the whole lease agreement and related expenditures.

Holomisa added that they further called upon IEC commission to immediately put in motion the recommendations and findings, especially the ones which calls for the conducting of forensic audit to check if there is no fraud perpetrated.

He further added that If Advocate Tlakula does not resign of her own volition, there is sufficient cause for the Commission to immediately fire, or at least suspend Adv Tlakula and the members of her executive committee that had been responsible for this maladministration and gross misconduct, until the forensic audit is concluded.
