Netcare 911 paramedics attended to an accident whereby a man sustained injuries after his vehicle plunged about sixty meters down a steep embankment today.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain a subject of a police investigation.

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said that the man was still trapped in the vehicle when they arrived on scene and paramedics set up a rope rescue system and then lowered themselves to where the man was.

“After stabilising him and putting him onto a specialised stretcher, they hoisted him back up to the road where he was placed in an ambulance and then transported to a nearby hospital for further medical care,” added Botha.
