Minister Jeff Radebe appointed acting President

The presidency on Thursday announced that Justice and Constitutional Development Minister, Jeff Radebe will act as President this is until Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe returns from Zimbabwe. 

Deputy President Kgalema Motlanthe is representing South Africa at Robert Mugabe's inauguration as president of Zimbabwe in Harare. 

Presidency Spokesperson Mac Maharaj said President Jacob Zuma has left for Luanda for a working visit with the President of Angola his excellence  Edward Dos Santos and the President of Democratic Republic of Congo his excellence Joseph Kabila.

“The consultation which will be taking place between the three president's is a follow-up to a meeting they had in March this year in Rwanda,” Maharaj.

Maharaj added that the three head of states are expected to discuss a range of issues related to peace and stability in the region, particularly the peace efforts in the DRC.
