The National Union of Mineworkers
said it supports the wage struggles waged by the National Union of South
Africa's auto manufacturing industry.
On Monday
about 30,000 workers downed tools, adding to the labor woes of the
continent's largest economy which has been hit by violent unrest at its mines.
NUM’s Spokesperson Lesiba Seshoka
said employers must adhere to the demands by NUMSA.
Seshoka added that the demands are
in line with the Congress of South African Trade Unions campaigns for a living
wage.
"We will ensure that nothing happens until the demands
are met.” Seshoka said.
