Two Police Officers died in an accident in Mfuleni

The Western Cape police have confirmed that a police vehicle and a bakery truck was involved in an accident near Mfuleni which left two officers dead. 

According to information received by police two police officers in their 30’s were doing cluster crime prevention duties, when the vehicle they were traveling in collided with the bakery truck.

Police Spokesperson Tembinkosi Kinana said it is alleged that the truck had four male occupants aged between 21 and 34 years-old, who were also transported to Kuilsriver hospital for medical treatment. Police Officers were stationed at Kuilsriver station at the time of their death.

Kinana added that at the time of the accident the officers were transporting a man who was arrested who also unfortunately died on the accident.

Police are investigating a case of culpable homicide.
