Two adults and four children sustained several injuries when their vehicle crashed down an embankment on the N1 North near William Nicol offramp.

The accident occurred last and the exact details are not known at this stage.

ER24 Spokesperson Werner Vermaak said paramedics when arrived on the scene found the vehicle wedged against a wall next to the highway. Bystanders explained that it appeared as if another vehicle collided into the back shortly before sending their vehicle into the barrier and down the embankment.

Vermaak also said a four year old child was in a serious condition and quickly rushed off to a nearby hospital for further treatment. The three other children between the ages of nine and fifteen were also taken to hospital. The two adults were also treated on the scene before they were transported to a nearby hospital.
