A truck driver in his 40’s died in an accident in Johannesburg

ER24 paramedics this afternoon rushed to an accident scene in Regents Park Johannesburg which left one person dead.

A large passenger bus collided into a front of a taxi which continued to push the taxi for several meters before it came to rest before a street pole. 

ER24 Spokesperson Vanessa Jackson said the ten occupants in the taxi sustained minor injuries. 

Jackson added that sadly the man that was driving the bus, he was about 40 years-old he was ejected through the front wheel shoulder of the bus and was found lying in the middle of the intersection.

"He sustained such extensive injuries that he had not survived and later he was declared dead." Jackson said.

Meanwhile in another accident an eight month old child is in a critical condition after she fell from a couch and landed on her head this morning. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said when she fell off and hit her head, she had sustained very serious injures.

"Paramedics were then called in to transport the child through to a Netcare hospital for the emergency care she required," Botha added.

The exact details of the cause of the accident and preceding events are still sketchy and police are investigating
