On Wednesday, Western Cape Government Human Settlements Minister, Bonginkosi Madikizela delivered the closing address at the 2013 South African Housing Federation International conference at the Cape Sun Hotel in Strand Street, Cape Town.
The minister reviewed the themes of the
last 5 conferences and also highlighted some of the successes of the Western
Cape Human Settlements Department in relation to these themes.
“We
are wrapping up the international conference that we normally have with a
number of delegates all over the world.
We are now having this conference for the 8th
time, and so far we have delegates to 28 different countries, in Africa , in Europe , Asia , you name it. So
we brought together here experts in human settlements to share ideas and
experience and take some of the lessons,” Minister Madikizela said
He continued to say “I think since I
started to get involved in it, we have certainly learned a lot and we have used
some of those lessons in our own projects in the province.”
The minister concluded his address by
saying that it might be his last time at the conference, because come next
year, he might not be in the same position.
