The South African Democratic Teachers Union
today said the recent report of a death of a learner at Christina School for the blind does
not inspire confidence in the administration of North West Education
Department.
A 9-year-old blind boy drowned in a two
metre deep swimming pool on Sunday.
North West Deputy Provincial Secretary
Thabo Sematle said the tragic incident was disturbing because two years ago a
similar incident occurred.
Sematle said they have noted the suspension
of the principal and call for tougher action to be taken at the school.
