Zille said the policy brings together a range of proposals focused on reducing and preventing violence in the Western Cape, which are all in line with our government's 'whole-of-society' approach.

Premier Zille’s Spokesperson Zak Mbhele said the policy outlines to is look at ways to reduce the availability of alcohol in residential areas, especially in Nyanga where there are about 25 000 illegal sheebeens.

Mbhele added that it has been identified that alcohol abuse contributes to unnatural deaths and sicknesses.
