Western Cape traffic officials
held several roadblocks over the weekend and cars were tested. The Western Cape Traffic Chief Kenny Africa
said they had stopped 1900 vehicles and two fatalities were reported.
“In these roadblocks 900 drivers were tested for alcohol they then arrested 15 drunken drivers,”Africa added.

He also said the total amount of fines they
issued is R125 100 and they also tested a speed of 16 619 vehicles and
prosecuted 1 692 drivers which were exceeding the speed limit.
“The highest speed in the Western Cape since Friday was
185km/h in 120km/h zone on the N1 outside Breckenfell,” Africa said.
