The Democratic Alliance said the
latest Special Investigating Unit annual report has revealed illegal land
grants issued by the Department of Rural Development and Land Reform to the
value of R699 million.
DA has called for all those guilty
of defrauding land reform beneficiaries must face the full might of the law.
DA MP of Rural Development and Land
Reform, Mpowele Swathe said as the DA they feel that land reform is a very
critical matter in terms of addressing poverty in our country.
Swathe added that he is very
disturbed because they believe that R700 million is a lot of money and it could
be used to help South Africans, the DA cannot allow that kind of money to be
misused.
