The Department of Correctional Services on Friday said it views the allegations of forcible injection of offenders as well as electroshocks to subdue and control offenders in a very serious light.

Minister of Correctional Services Sibusiso Ndebele said no stone will be left unturned in the investigation into the Mangaung Private Correctional Centre.

Chief Deputy Commissioner of Incarceration and Corrections James Smalberger said the minister also announced and expressed his confidence in the DCS team which is led by Zak Modise to manage and continue with the investigation as they invoke section 112 of the Correctional Services Act on the 09th of October to ensure that stability returns to Mangaung because it was clear that the situation was not under control.

“Our team will continue restore law and order into the prison,” Smalburger added
