A body of a woman discovered near George

Southern Cape police have confirmed that a body of a woman believed to be in her twenties was found near George. 

Police Spokesperson Captain Bernadine Steyn said the body was found on a mattress and was partially clothed. 

An investigation has started. 

Steyn said it is alleged that she was hit with a blunt object over the head but an autopsy will be conducted later today to determine the cause of death.

She added that one has been arrested as yet and anyone with information is kindly requested to contact Warrant Officer Clive Davids on 044 803 3302.
