The National Education Health and Allied Workers Union on Wednesday picketed outside the offices of the Department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries.

Nehawu is demanding a response from the department regarding a list of grievances that were submitted by workers, these demands include the un-procedural restructuring happening at the department.

Nehawu Provincial Secretary Luthando Nogcinisa said we have been complaining for a long time about the downgrading of posts and the victimisation of our members.

Nogcinisa said as Nehawu we decided we need to picket to show the whole country that the department of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries does not take its staff seriously, and we call on the minister and the DG to intervene as a matter of urgency.
