A 35-year-old sentenced to 25 years in prison for raping his daughter

The Pietermaritzburg Regional Court on Wednesday sentenced a 35-year-old father to 25-years in prison for raping his 10-year-old daughter in January this year. 

It is allegedly that the suspect raped the girl at her grandmother’s house in Mountain Rise and threatened her not to tell anyone about what had happened. 

Captain Thulani Zwane said the father came again in an attempt to rape her, which is when the girl went to the police station to report the rape.

A case of rape was opened and through investigation the father was arrested and charged with murder,” Zwane added.
