Manatha said the rape took place back in May while the mother was away and it
was only reported to the police this week.
Manatha said the child only disclosed the
rape when her mother discovered that she was pregnant and they reported it to
the police.
Manatha added that man will appear at the
Butterworth Magistrate court today on charges of rape.
