City of Cape Town satisfied with a low number of drowning in Cape Town beaches

The City of Cape Town says it is pleased that there had been no drownings, or violent incidents such as stabbings, were reported to have taken place on the City’s beaches on Thursday and today.

There has been no drowning reported in Cape Town beaches today.

Richard Bosman Executive Director, Safety and Security, City of Cape Town said traditionally these days are one of the busiest days of the year on Cape Town beaches.

Richard Bosman said we are satisfied with this result as it demonstrates that the City’s various interventions are having a positive effect with regards to keeping our beaches safer for users.
