City of Cape Town will plant trees in honour of Madiba

The City of Cape Town will be hosting tree planting legacy projects across the city to honour the late Former President Nelson Mandela. 

City’s Mayoral Committee Member for Community Services and Special Projects Belinda Walker said trees create positive living environments and contribute to the quality of life of communities as did Madiba. 

Director of Parks Chantal Hanslo said they plan to plant trees which will symbolise honouring for President Nelson Mandela.

Hanslo said the five events will be held in five different areas which include Langa, Gugulethu and Nyanga and the events will all start at the same time in the evening.
