A man hospitalised after a hit and run accident in Claremont

A 30-year-old man was this afternoon involved in a hit and run accident in Claremont. 

The man was attempting to cross the main road when he was hit.

ER24 Spokesperson Christo Venter said paramedics tried to stabilise the man on the scene before he was transported to the nearest hospital for further care.

Venter said the driver of the car fled the scene, soon after the accident.

He urged anyone with information regarding this incident to contact the nearest police station.

The exact details of the cause of the accident will remain the subject of a police investigation.
