Five people injured in an accident in Northdale

Five people were left injured this morning in a side-impact accident in Pietermaritzburg. 

Netcare 911 Spokesperson Chris Botha said two cars collided, one into the side of another.

Botha said when paramedics arrived at the scene there were five people injured; three of them had sustained serious injuries. They were all treated on scene and transported to a nearby hospital for further care.

The exact details of the cause of the accident and preceeding events will remain the subject of a police investigation.
