Separate shootings leaves two people dead in Cape Town

A 34-year-old man was on Thursday shoot dead in Valhalla Drive Bridge. 

Western Cape Police said it is believed the man was shot by an unidentified man while he was driving with his wife. 

Captain FC van Wyk said the suspects fled the scene in an unknown direction. Circumstances’ surrounding the shooting is being investigated. 

Van Wyk said a murder case has been opened and no arrests have been made as yet.

In another incident a man aged 26-years-old was shot dead several times in Bonteheuwel on Thursday.  Police said they could not say whether the shooting was gang-related. 

Captain FC van Wyk said upon police arriving on the scene they found the man with several gunshot wounds to his body and he died on the scene due to the injuries he sustained.

Van Wyk said the motive for the killing is still unknown and no arrests have been made yet.
